Hitoy-Cerere Biological Reserve

With 20 feet of annual rainfall, this verdant reserve is consistently wet. The forest is incredibly dense and luxuriant, with massive trees draped with moses, orchids, vines and ferns, propped up by buttress roots. Many small rivers run though the reserve, which is home for toucans, parrots, ocelots, howler monkeys, iguanas and countless other animals. The reserve is a bit off the beaten path, at the end of a banana filled valley, and the trails are steeps and muddy, but the natural wonders are worth the trouble for a true enthusiast.
