Rincón de la Vieja National Park

14,084 ha (35,460 acres) filled with diversity of ecosystems. The Rincón de la Vieja massif rises to 1,916 m.a.s.l. with nine well identified eruptive crevices and a clear water lagoon south f the crater. Natural boiling mud pans and earth ovens are found here as well as thermal springs, sulphur ponds, and steam jets. 257 species of birds enhance the park. Address: on the Guanacaste Volcanic Mountain Range, only 27 km NE of the city of Liberia.
