Santa Rosa Historical Hacienda Farmhouse

Declared a national monument on July 1st, 1996, it had become one of the most prosperous estates of the country during the 17th century. The battle of Santa Rosa, on March 20, 1856, liberated the country from the "filibusteros" (freeboosters).

The big "Casona" farmhouse was remodeled in 1895 and acquired its present design. Today, a museum recalls the most relevant historic events and facts of this Hacienda. Address: 43 km from the city of Liberia, on the highway to the border, with Nicaragua.
