Irazu Volcano National Park
This small park is centered around the summit of the countryís highest
volcano, at 11.269 ft. above sea level.
Irazu has been dormant since 1965, but the fury of the las eruptions
have left it with a lunar landscape, with a massive crater of 3.450
ft across and 1.000 feet deep, the bottom of which holds an eerie yellow
lake. The summit is cool and misty, ans is best visited early in the
morning, when cloud cover is at a minimum. Is located 18 miles north
of Cartago. Itís a great drive up.
